Meet the Directors

David Owen FCMA
Director and Chairman

A Chartered Management Accountant, David is responsible for leading the Company’s immediate customer facing functions (Site Services and Finance) and is the Director responsible for developing the Company's Chemical Dosing business.

Prior to joining the Company, David held a number of financial and non-financial directorships with other manufacturing and engineering organisations. He was latterly Commercial Director at environmental technology leader, AESSEAL plc. There during his tenure, he was directly involved in the global development of the Company and its market-focused growth strategy. This resulted in the expansion of direct operations, from 10 to 30+ countries and the tripling of sales.

David was appointed Director and Chairman in 2012.            


Jamie Thums BSc (Hons) IEng MIET
Director

Jamie, a graduate time-served Engineer, is principally responsible for Production, Logistics, HR, IT and Business Assurance. Supported by his Board colleagues, Jamie is also responsible for the development of the Company’s customer-centric Continuous Improvement Programme.

Prior to joining the Company, Jamie spent 20 years in Manufacturing, most recently at exemplar mechanical seal business, AESSEAL plc. There, he was General Manager of 2 autonomous business units and Corporate Head of Excellence. In 2009, following a sustained level of World Class business results and performance, AESSEAL plc was awarded the coveted UK Excellence Award. Key headlines included compound sales growth of 20%, 95%+ customer satisfaction rate, exports to 100+ countries and numerous accolades including “Climate Change Champion” (Business in the Community’s Environmental Index).


Mark Davy
Director

Gaining an HNC in Electrical Engineering following the successful completion of an apprenticeship with Thermos, Mark quickly became the engineering champion for process automation. To further develop his project management skills, Mark subsequently joined Lark Electrical, which was followed by SGMI.

Mark first joined the Company in 1998. He quickly transferred to the Sales Function where he excelled. In 2005 he left to join ABB as Water Industry Manager (UK).

Mark was lured back to the Company in 2008. Following a number of internal operational roles and reflecting his broad and in-depth experience, in 2010 Mark was appointed to the Board of Directors. Today, Mark is the Director responsible for Proposals, Sales and Marketing, and the MCC Technical Function.    


Jeff Crooke CEng MIMechE
Non-Executive Director

Before joining the Company in 1977, Jeff, a Michelin Tyre Company apprentice, was a Commercial Engineer at GEC Projects and Brown Boveri, followed by Commercial Manager at Ashlow Steel. His experience spans over 40 years, during which time he has amassed a wealth of knowledge in process automation and control system technologies across numerous industrial sectors.

Reflecting his engineering prowess, in the mid 80’s Jeff became a Chartered Engineer. In 2005, he led the Company through a management buy-out from multi-national business Tyco, and was Managing Director until December 2012.

Jeff remains instrumental in helping to develop the Company's Strategy and customer relationships.
