Lintott Control Systems: An Historical Overview

The origin of the Company dates back to 1980, when it was formed as Lintott Control Equipment Limited.  This followed the management buyout of the electrical division of Ashlow Steel (a subsidiary of Bridon PLC) together with a portion of the electronics business of Lintott Engineering Limited (a business with roots over 130 years old).

In the Company’s fledgling years, it designed, manufactured, and commissioned Electrical Control Equipment, predominantly for the Steel Industry.  Between 1980 and 1995, the Company expanded into other Sectors, including Water, Oil & Gas and Process Industries.  The Company’s technical offering was also broadened to include Hydraulic Control Systems.

In April 1995, the Company was acquired by Wormald Ansul (UK) Ltd, a part of  Tyco International Inc.  From 1998 to 2002, Wormald acquired several other businesses and underwent several restructures.  This led to a trading style change to “Tyco Control Systems”.  In 1999, the Chemical Dosing Systems business of Sensors & Systems was acquired and integrated within the Company.

A management buyout resulted in the creation of Lintott Control Systems Limited and on the 30th December 2005, the Company acquired the stock, assets and right to succeed to the business of Tyco Control Systems.

In 2011, the Company launched an all-embracing customer-centric Change & Continuous Improvement Programme. The result is to provide customers with outstanding customer service and to move the Company closer to achieving its aim of becoming the market leader in its fields of expertise.  Headquartered in Norwich with a service infrastructure which covers the UK, today the Company has approximately 110 Team Members who are determined to surpass customer expectations.
